"The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country."
What is NeoLibertarian.Com?
NeoLibertarian.com uses Integral Thinking, Systems Thinking, and analysis of political 'Newspeak' to move past the ideological trench warfare of Red States vs. Blue States and Left vs. Right.
We’re not a political party, but we provide new thinking and new insights to help deal effectively with our complicated times. This site is for Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and Libertarians who feel the need for better solutions and who don’t see those solutions in the old dogmas of any one, established party. It is time for NeoLibertarian views that take the best from all the old political parties and add new thinking to take politics to the next level. Take a look at our web site and our blog, think about our case studies and books (as they become available), and see if NeoLibertarian theory can help you steer your party and your country into the future.
Video Of The Month
The Laffer Curve As Explained By
The Center For Freedom And Prosperity
The Laffer curve takes into account both the tax rate, typically what the left focuses on, and how the tax rate affects the size and growth of the economy, typically what the right focuses on.
This video explains why both the stereotypical mean green "soak the rich" scheme fails and why the simple minded "tax cuts pay for themselves" thinking often heard from the right is usually wrong.
What's On NeoLibertarian.Com?
We're a growing site, we just re-launched the site in April 2008 and we'll be adding a lot of content through the year and into 2009. Here's what will be up on the site:
- The NeoLibertarian at large blog. The blog provides topical commentary with a NeoLibertarian spin. Think of it as fodder for your water cooler or cocktail party conversations about current events. There are links to it in the top menu on every page.
- Case Studies and Essays. These will be more detailed treatments of specific issues with in depth use of NeoLibertarian thinking and analytical tools. Case Studies and Essays will provide new insights and thinking about how big issues have developed and how to deal with them. Most of these will be premium content, initially available for free to newsletter subscribers and later for a small fee. The first case studies will be done in Spring 2008 and summaries of them will be posted on this site in a Case Studies and Essays section.
- The NeoLibertarian Tool Box. The Tool Box is just that: explanations of the key analytical and thinking tools used in the NeoLibertarian approach along with examples. You'll be able to check out the tools, use what you like and discard the rest. This will be free content. The first Tool Box sections will be done in Spring 2008.
- Libertarian Notes and Essays. As the name implies, NeoLibertarian.Com rests on the tradition of classical liberalism, usually referred to as Libertarian thought in modern times. Sometimes we'll go back to the basics and just discuss things from this point of view. This content will start to go up in the summer of 2008 and will be free content.
- Links and References. Just what it sounds like. Much of the NeoLibertarian approach consists of using existing tools in new ways. We didn't invent the tools so we'll point you to the works of the people who did. We'll also try and highlight next level thinking wherever it might be, even if other people's version of the next level is different from our own.
If you're thinking "Hey, your site may be good but I don't want to have to check back all the time to see when all the new content gets posted" please check out our "The NeoLibertarian Newsletter: What's In It For You" section just down the page.
